Me in Bansko, Bulgaria

I am a writer, editor, political junkie and technophile living in Northampton, Massachusetts, where I have returned to finish school at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

I was the editor of my high school’s newspaper, The High School View, which was published in the Martha’s Vineyard Times. I wrote a bunch of fluff for the Vineyard Gazette as an intern and freelancer, and a sports article for the Boston Globe, for which I was never paid (I want my $100, ya jerks!). I have sold shoes, been a production assistant on an Academy Award-winning Paramount Pictures movie (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events), started a magazine with a friend (The Illiterati, for which we had too-high ambitions and too-low budgetary means), driven and dispatched buses, been a garbage man and a taxi driver on Martha’s Vineyard, which has been the best move I’ve ever made for networking and marketing myself. However, nothing has panned out yet. In other words, I am unfulfilled and wondering what else is out there.

I am currently the head copy editor and public editor of Blast magazine, an online Boston-based lifestyle magazine. I’m also doing social media marketing for Artspromo in Shutesbury, MA.

I recently got married, proving my ex-girlfriends were wrong and someone actually can love me. We’re trying to save our money so we can move to France in September.

I can be reached at drew@riverhed.com.

Some of my older work can be seen here. More recent articles I’ve written for Blast can be seen at my profile here.
